The Relais Della Porta is 260 m away. from the wonderful Toledo station of line 1 of the Naples metro.
According to the English newspaper The Daily Telegraph, it is the most beautiful metro station in Europe and the world.
Designed by the Spanish architect Oscar Tusquets, the station has three exits: via Toledo, via Diaz and piazza Montecalvario, connected through a 170-meter gallery, and which opened on 18 September 2013.
At the entrance of via Diaz, parallel to via Toledo, there are three hexagonal structures covered with blue and ocher tiles that act as a skylight in the station's atrium. The color of the skylights is important because it anticipates the dominant shades inside the station, blue and ocher.
The interior is characterized by two large Kentridge mosaics and made by the mosaic artist Costantino Aureliano Buccolieri: the first is placed in the mezzanine of the station and depicting a typical Neapolitan scene, full of people on the move, including the same author and San Gennaro. There are many references to Pompeii (in particular to some figures as well as to the mosaic style in general) and to Vesuvius. In the background there are topographical maps of the city.
